Highlight of My Day

Can we talk about the beauty (pun intended) of, you guessed it, highlighter?! My makeup journey has been an adventurous one that I never anticipated. Aside from the occasional blood red lipstick that evolved to a darker burgundy Spice shade, no particular look ever stuck with me during my young-adult years. Hiring a makeup artist over twenty years ago for my wedding was not even a thought.

It wasn’t until my baby girl pursued performing arts during her adolescence that it came up on my radar in such a profound way. Over the years, she had developed quite a talent for ‘beating a face’ that I just knew she could really excel in the cosmetic space and be incredibly successful. Alas, her academic acumen soared just as high, so she gets to simply look fabulous in the halls of University. Besides, she is young yet. I would not be surprised if she spun the beauty block at some point in her future, however. I remain proud either way!

As a spectator, I became interested in exploring different pallets on me. I later found that I enjoyed a minimalist application. I love my freckles and never want to cover them up. Tbh I was never one to like foundation caked onto my face anyway. Besides, I have always had a decent complexion and if it wasn’t broken, I didn’t want to fix it. I realize as I get older, a skin care routine wouldn’t hurt.

I do love me a good highlighter. In fact, cut my teeth on the Manizer Sisters’ pallet. Not an Ad lol The color, Mary-Lou Manizer, hated to see me coming! After I used it to death, I upped my education and am currently using Too Faced and I love, love, love it!🥰

There is something about that finishing touch accentuating my skin tone that leaves me feeling radiant. I love how it glistens on all shades of my brown sister’s skin as well. Sometimes, it is all I will wear on my face other than lip rouge and shadow on my brows. I am enjoying the large quantity in my current pallet compared to the other colors I never used in my old pallet that went to waste. You will not regret adding this product to your glam repertoire.
